The objects of the Association include:
- to become a registered native title body corporate in repect of the Adnyamathanha Lands or any part of them following a determination of native title in favour of the members of the Association in respect of those lands.
- to perform any functions imposed on or permitted to be carried out by prescribed bodies corporate or registered native title bodies corporate under the Native Title Act or Regulations made thereunder, as agent or trustee for the common law holders.
Pending a determination of native title in favour of the Association in respect of Adnyamathanha Lands, the Association intends to:
- unite Adnyamathanha people seeking to have their native title rights and interests recognised in respect of lands which comprise or form part of the Adnyamathanha Lands; and
- initiate legal proceedings to protect, preserve and prevent interference with places of historical, social, cultural and spiritual significance for the Adnyamathanha people as well as to protect their native title rights and interests.
