    Summary Information:
    The Meekatharra 'Junjar Mudar Mia' Shared Responsibility Agreement (SRA) is an agreement between the Meekatharra Indigenous Community and the Commonwealth Government, through the Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination (OIPC) and the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA).

    Shared Responsibility Agreements are agreements between governments and Indigenous communities to provide discretionary funding in return for community obligations. The new arrangements developed from an initiative of the Council of Australian Governments and replace the previous ATSIC system of funding. For more information see 'Shared Responsibility Agreement' below.

    This SRA's purpose is to renovate the building currently being used by the Junjar Mudar Mia organisation as a parents' and children's centre in order to ensure its safety. It also aims to train one of the mothers for the role of part-time coordinator of the centre.

  • help to coordinate Junjar Mudar Mia's parenting, nutrition and health awareness programs;
  • through both the women's and CDEP groups, will help to maintain the lawns and gardens; and
  • participate in training to coordinate Junjar Mudar Mia activities.

    Families and individuals will:
  • ensure that there is ongoing participate and community support for Junjar Mudar Mia's programs; and
  • encourage enrolment and attendance in pre-school and school.
