The James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement-in-Principle was signed on 15 November 1974 between the Governments of Canada and Quebec, the Cree and Inuit of Northern Quebec and the Quebec Hydro-Electric Commission. The agreement, negotiated over two years sets out the foundations for arriving at a final agreement that was completed in 1975.
