The agreed area of exploration permit 127 includes land within the boundaries of the Alyawarr and Kaytetya People's native title determination application, the Oorobora and Atnwallya People's native title determination application and the Arrapere People's native title determination application. Permit 128 includes land within the boundaries of two of the Alyawarr People's native title determination applications. Neither of these grants included freehold land held by Aboriginal Land Trusts, Aboriginal Community Living Areas or Telstra.
Legal Status: Registered with the National Native Title Tribunal on the Register of Indigenous Land Use Agreements on 15 April 2008. This is an authorised Area Agreement under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).

The NT Oil Ltd: EP 127 and 128 Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) was agreed to between the Central Land Council, NT Oil Ltd and representatives of the Alyawarr (Johnny Barber Kngwarrey, Billy Cook Apetyarr, Nugget Smith Apetyarr and Pompie Turner Apetyarr), Kaytetye (Alec Patersen Apetyarr, Banjo Morton Apetyarr, Edith Dinnie Apetyarr, Jemima Foster Apetyarr, Sammy Ladd Akemarr and Gordon Dobbs Apetyarr), Arrapere (Lindsay Bookie Penangke), Pwetyalaneme, Mappette, Oorobora and Atnwallya Peoples (Raymond Webb Penangke, Ronnie Webb Peltharre, Alan George Dempsey Peltharre and Kwementyaye Clearly Angale).

It was registered with the National Native Title Tribunal on 15 April 2008.

Detailed Information:
The agreement provides for the giving of consent for NT Oil Ltd's future acts over the area including exploration and all activities carried out in accordance with the terms of the ILUA. The ILUA also makes provision for the protection of native title rights and interests including the protection of sacred sites.
