| The Erubam Le Traditional Land and Sea Owners (Torres Strait Islanders) Corporation is the registered native title body corporate for the consent native title determination in Mye on behalf of the Erubam Le v State of Queensland [2004] FCA 1573 (8 December 2004). The Corporation was incorporated on 19 September 2001 under the Aboriginal Councils and Associations Act 1976 (Cth). Article 6 of the Rules of Association sets out the objects of the Corporation. They are to hold the native title rights and interests of the Erubam People native title holders on trust, to perform the functions of a registered native title body corporate under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and to ensure that the welfare and interests of the Erubam people are paramount. Membership of the Erubam Le Traditional Land and Sea Owners (Torres Strait Islanders) Corporation is open to adult Erubam whether they live at Erub Island or elsewhere. |
