Summary Information:
Saibai Mura Buway (Torres Strait Islanders) Corporation is the registered native title body corporate for the consent native title determination in Saibai People v State of Queensland [1999] FCA 158 (12 February 1999). It was incorporated on 6 June 1997 and is registered on the Office of the Registrar of Aboriginal Corporations (ORAC) register. The objects for which it was established are set out as follows:

'(a) To hold title to land including any title granted under Native Title Claim;
(b) To deal with land, the title to which is held by the Association, in accordance with the lawful requirements of the Native title holders of that land (where held pursuant to a grant of native title) and as otherwise permitted by law.'
